Our 9th Annual H.M.O.N.G. High School Conference is planned for Spring 2020!
The purpose of our Higher-Education Movement: Our Next Generation High School Conference is to develop future leaders through interactions and dialogue between high school students, current college students, college alumni, and community organizers. We encourage students to reflect about their identities, provide resources for access to higher education, and establish a support system at and beyond H.M.O.N.G.
There will be H.M.O.N.G. committee-developed workshops and activities that will be executed throughout the 3-day, 2-night program to stimulate conversation and participant interaction. High school students will engage in critical discussions of their identity and communities, and current college students will serve as mentors providing insight about their higher education journeys. High school participants will stay with residence hall hosts for the duration of the program at UCLA and get the chance to experience first-hand some aspects of college student life.
Applications will open early 2020 and we hope to have you join us!
