Thank you to all the students who have applied to be a part of our Sib Koom Tes (Join Together) High School Mentorship program! Please check your emails for confirmation!
Dear student,
This year, the Association of Hmong Students (AHS) at UCLA will be piloting a new high school mentorship program called Sib Koom Tes (Join Together)! This new program will be different and separate from our Higher-Education Movement: Our Next Generation (H.M.O.N.G.) High School Conference. Sib Koom Tes aims to assist high school students of all backgrounds and grade levels throughout their time during high school, and also with the college application process for high school seniors. High school students will be paired with UCLA students who will be their mentors. UCLA mentors will assist with providing resources, sharing their first-hand experience as Hmong students in higher education, and provide a safe space for high school students to ask for advice regarding their present and/or future plans. Students of all backgrounds from any location are welcome to apply! The mentorship is a year-long commitment and will consist of online interactions between the mentors and mentees.
